Ennui
It's a bit early for the dog days of summer, but here I am in the steam bath that is Baltimore trying to shake off a funk and wondering why my e-mail box is empty, my comments are down and the social calendar has nothing but job related engagements. Is it my unfortunate habit, at parties, to switch the black olives and chocolate coated almonds? That I have been known to set off explosives in the host's kitchen? Have I been...horrors...boring? The other day I saw a girl of about 6 run onto the empty playground behind Molly's crying and wailing; "Nobody likes me!" I felt so sorry for her that I wanted to run up and hug her and tell her that I did. But I didn't want to get arrested. This modern world. Time to crack open a beer and start playing with paper and glue.

OK, I have a comment about your post a couple of days ago.
What would your boss do if you got a cell phone and wouldn't give him the number?

Now there's an act of passive aggression I hadn't even considered. If I did get a cell phone, I would give him the number, but I don't want one.

Paper and glue? Are you starting work on valentines already? We made a few Christmas ornaments last year and I think I ended up putting off construction until about December 21.

Molly,
Do you work tomorrow, and if so, when?

production on the valentines usually starts on 2/15, but I got lazy this year and didn't start cutting the squares until May. I reckon I'll be on the consumer's side of the bar @ 3:30, if you need to see me earlier, send me an e-mail, Mr. Snay.

I'm working 'til 4, then heading into the city. Don't know what my evening plans are - possibly a *gasp* "Date!" - but I'll swing by and say hi!
