Around Tuxedo Park
The eleven year old has been invited to a medieval role playing party and assigned the part of a general. When she reminded me again that she needed a costume, I asked her what she was going to do about it. She wanted to go to the party store and I told her to ask her neighborhood buddies if they had swords and shields to borrow, because I didn't want to spend any money on them to use only once. She sure grumbled about that, but it turns out that the boys around here have quite the arsenals they are willing to lend out and are sure to give her some costume tips as well. That made me happy. What made her happy was the phone call about the free ice cream samples in front of the grocery around the corner.
