Every once in a while I am willing to spend a bit of time testing out a product line for a brewery that has come to my attention. Last week my sales guy recommended an Octoberfest from a microbrewery in the mountains up north. I said, yeah, lets try it. And I really like it, even though it's early for me to think about Autumn beers in the heat. It was so tasty I went out to a beer store and bought a mixed six from Saranac to sample in consideration for our selection in the privacy of my studio, as it was not supplied by the wholesaler. Well that review took about twenty minutes. Except fot the Octoberfest, the lager, black and tan, the pale ale and the India pale ale were all too bitter for my taste. I know some people like bitter beer, but I don't. I hate to dump beer down the sink, but I did. By the time I was done, it took several Rolling Rocks to wash away the creeping, coating bad in my mouth. Needless to say, I won't be ordering any unless someone pitches a fit for it. We are sampling a case of Dos Equis Amber Lager on recommendation this week and next will have some Carlsberg for the Swedish art students up the street. What would you like to drink?
This is going to sound silly, because it is, but I cut my teeth on "Maryland's Best" brand beer, and I've had a hankering for it recently. I'm not sure if it's even brewed anymore, but if you could get a hold of some of that, I'd be indebted.
Oh, and it makes Natty Boh taste like Guinness.

I saw some of Maryland's Best recently...I'll have to figure out which distributor it comes from.
