What happened to India Ink? When I was a child, it could be bought at the five and dime. (There are no more of them either-different rant) Now I can't find it at my local art supply stores. The last time I bought it, I didn't read the package carefully. When I got it home, I saw that it said "not waterproof" under the product name. If it's not waterproof, it's NOT India Ink! Usually Windsor & Newton can be relied apon to sell you the real deal...but the problem begs the question, again, what happened to India Ink? Is it carcinogenic? So are cadmium and chromium pigments deadly toxins, but no one's eating the stuff. There are quicker ways to die. I never let the kids touch my art supplies either, they get thier own. Sure India Ink will clog your repitiograph, but you got other inks for that. It smells kinda funny, but so does turpentine-no one's yanking IT off the shelf. So if you know, tell me WHAT HAPPENED TO INDIA INK? It's got a nice metallic gleam to it when it dries.
