Yesterday we explored taking advantage of fugitive pigments by masking against light fading. Lesson two: making uneven rates of oxidation work for you, in which we create our very own grilled cheese sandwich "miracle". Assemble the ingredients for your sandwich, including white bread, sliced cheese, butter, cooking spray and a skillet. In a small microwave-safe dish melt a tablespoon of butter or so. Spray the skillet with the non stick stuff. With a paintbrush, paint the desired image ( face of Jesus, Mickey Mouse, a valentine, etc...) in melted butter on the outer-facing slice of white bread, let set a minute and then assemble the sandwich. Pan cook your sandwich at a slightly higher temperature than you would use with butter and VOILA! Your miracle will appear in minutes! If you do not achieve the desired effect the first time, feed the results to your neighbor's kids and try again. After you have successfully auctioned your miracle on E-Bay, send me a check for 5%. Hey, I'm cheap. Tommorrow, maybe, Fun With Corrosives.
