This afternoon I recieved a call for entries from the same organization which rejected my work last year, and ten years before that, for ten years in a row. Because all entries for their large city-wide show must apply for the top prize of 25,000 dollars, the process is rather rigorous. It becomes even more exacting as semi-finalists are selected. Last year I applied, not with the money in my sights-just wanting a place on the wall-at the behest of the organization's head. And my work was rejected. This prompted me to hunt down the official for his image, and with it, paint this picture:
It is called "No Show for You" and I am entering it in this year's competition.
