Between picking up shifts at my present jobs and searching, applying for and interviewing at new ones, I have been busy and not as faithful to my daily walking routine. In fact, it had been quite a few months since I put in so much as a mile when I picked up the habit again this week. In spite of the damp chill, a brisk hike helps allay the seasonal blues in the dreariest days of the year. It jump starts the circulation and gets you out to see some sights, banal as they may be. I was amused this morning to see this anamometer sticking up over a platform on some play equipment in someone's back yard;
