Today my journeys took me to Federal Hill, old and narrow shouldered. The drive down there always reminds me of our city's maritime and industrial heritage. After a studio visit with my friend Janet, I saw this astounding bed of cacti growing on the sidewalk. I took this photo of it. The lady who planted it saw me and popped out her door to give me a two foot segment plucked from the bed. promised her it would find a good place on my parking lot.
