Today I attended a neighborhood tour hosted by the city's housing department to collect a coupon for five thousand dollars towards closing costs should I elect to buy a house that falls within their program parameters. As we walked past tidy gardens and freshly painted renovations, our tour guide listed many nearby amenities. We stopped at a corner for the back of the group to catch up. I pointed across the street and informed everyone helpfully; "A couple years ago a guy killed his girlfriend and stuffed her down that manhole. They didn't find her for months!". Our guide said she hadn't heard about that one and hustled us off to the next attraction.
