The graduate students are having such great success with the shishito peppers and the tilapia that they take them to market. I am jealous, and wishing I had a Quonset hut of my own.
Yesterday the younger daughter turned 18. As the clock struck midnight she went outside with pots and pans to bang together. She shouted at the top of her lungs. "I'm an adult now! I am all grown up!" She reminds me of someone.
When I noticed the yellow flowers on the big weed in the front yard I told the teen not to remove it. I was hoping for a squash but I got a pumpkin. Courtesy of those thieving squirrels eating our jack o lanterns I bet. Better pick it before they do.
We have a bumper crop of Ghosts, Fataliis and Scotch Bonnets here on the parking lot. The SAAB may have met its reward a year ago but a tiny Fiat has taken the space. I also sold a large painting in time to pay the mortgage. And so life moves forward.
