This years crop is well on its way. The temperature outside is 27f but we got full spectrum tubes in the overhead fixtures.

Chemo Camp

At the hospital, chemotherapy infusion treatment is administered in a group setting. In a largish room filled with recliners and wheelie tables, patients can put their feet up, read, snack and converse during treatment. It has a convivial salon-like atmosphere with the soaps playing on the hanging TV sets. I have gotten to know the routines and the staff and some of the other patients have gotten familiar, too. I wish they served coffee.

Appearances

The first day of Spring brought us six inches of snow. Yesterday a peace lily and an aglaonema appeared on my doorstep. Like magic. And, I either missed the sanservia then or it appeared today. They will help improve the gasses in my bedroom. I am grateful for the help.

Saatchi Art sold a canvas print of this piece today. Yay! Commerce! I also sold a small oil painting to a neighbour this past week. His father owns a triptych of mine from a while back. So I feel pretty reinforced over in that department. For today.

Take a number

There were at first, days when I was all excited about the change, gung-ho to start a whole new life unencumbered by an office job. Free to live my life as an artist. Then I go and spend two days asleep to wake up for a morning at Social Services. My online application for nutrition assistance did not "stick", so here I am with my actual papers waiting in my third hour to be seen.

No nine to five

It's been two months out of work and I am not sure I am used to the lack of structure.

If Judy Garland said to Mickey Rooney: " I have brain cancer", he'd say "Let's put on a show!". And so I have discussed the hanging of several paintings with the fellow in charge of these things at Holy Friholes. Old and new stuff. Gotta clear out the basement.

It was sunny today and the temperature almost reached 48 degrees. Thank goodness. The sun felt warm on my face.
