Tomorrow would have been my mother's 89th. I made this for passing her notes when I miss her. The photo in the middle is a transfer of work by Lis Rock Sent by Martha
I have been struggling along with a show proposal that treats the theme of the Chair By the Side of the Road. I am not going to make deadline-this is a subject I've been visiting over the ye years but it has not informed a cohesive body of work. I have a couple of pages about the symbolism and ubiquity of the Chairs, but the works reflect the disparate styles I went through. I don't have time to paint twenty chair paintings. I am not going with the manhole lids. A quandry.
I have been blogging and posting most days but an incompatability with servers seems to have caused them to vanish. Which is not fair. They may not be brilliant writing but I am paying for service. Let's see if this sicks.
It's raining, again. That's twice today. I hope this spring is not as wet as last year's. This afternoon a house on our street caught fire, it may have been a thunder strike. At least our sump pump works!
