When people gather for sharing a meal, the event may be further defined by tradition as a dinner or a feast. There are regional variations called a bake or a boil, or a roast. We hold cook outs and picnics, we celebrate wedding brunches and prayer breakfasts. At a funeral you may sit down to a repass. (As distinguished from a repast) At a wine tasting you may be nibbling finger food. If you observe Passover, you will probably have Seder. This week a lot of us will have a Thanksgiving dinner. I have cooked this for my family since forever, it seems. I hope I can get my energy for this.
