The Endorsement

Today something impelled me to pull out the bread machine from the back of the pantry. I looked up a recipe, had all the ingredients and three hours later had a warm, fluffy yeasty little loaf that was divine sliced and buttered. I received the bread machine from a kitchen supply in exchange for a review. It's still pumping out perfect loaves effortlessly, Breadman! Thanks.

Raining ice balls, the temperature was hovering around the freezing point as I walked back from the corner poke stop the other morning. Shivering, I stopped to greet the mail carrier, Renee. She immediately started fussing with my scarf and coat, tucking me in and zipping me up. I got admonished and my hat tugged tight. Feeling more chilled by the minute and a bit embarrassed by the familiarity, I was grateful for the caring attention. It dawned on me. Community, belonging and concern are universally human traits. Let's all look after and protect each other.

Copy your house key a few times on key blanks with distinctive patterns. Keep one with the loose change in your pocket and transfer from pant to pant as you change each time.

Winter Weather

Yesterday's snow left only enough to ice the lawns like an oatmeal cookie. Today we have snow falling lightly, pretty as a Christmas card and dusting the ground like a sugar doughnut. I'm getting hungry, can you tell?

Hat Songs

In getting ready to hang a show at the end of the month, I am looking again at frames, making lists, posting jpegs and enjoying a hat with blue tooth speakers sewn in. It was a gift from the younger daughter and it's a brilliant invention. No more earbuds falling out!
