Gassing

Today my good friend Donna and I had a delicious brunch at a jam packed, wait in line popular brunch place where I enjoyed grilled salmon, cheese grits and fried green tomatoes. Then my good friend Janet and I went to the arboretum to sit under the trees shielded from the drizzle. The forest gasses were improved with ions generated by rain and our spirits were uplifted despite the damp. We ogled and speculated about a wedding being set up and then the parade of attendees dressed to the nines as per our usual amusement. When I got home, Hubby had the TV on low volume and the younger daughter was absorbing snoozing lessons from the cat, on the sofa. Although many may have felt let down by the weather, for me it was a beautiful day.

Mud therapy

Yesterday I encountered a barefooted woman splashing and squishing her feet in a mud puddle. She looked like she was having fun. I asked her and she told me that she had been waiting months to feel mud between her toes. It was all I could do to resist ripping off my shoes and socks to join her, but she also told me that she was on her way to her therapist so I wished her well and went my way.

Hot Weather

I smell the gramma's attic smell of the old wooden house heating up in the 92 degree heat.
To all the people working outside today, the traffic flaggers, postal carriers, cops in black uniforms and athletes, drink plenty of water and go slow.

Today is Saint Dymphna's day on the Catholic calendar. She is the patron for the mentally ill and other nervous disorders. So, if you or an associate are afflicted, it wouldn't hurt to invoke her intercession for your troubles. Today

The magic musical hat turns itself off after a while if you get lulled to sleep, but this morning I shifted and the hat turned back on. "Little Darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter..." Just as a beam hit my face, George sang "Here comes the sun" and I felt brightened enough to get out of bed and hit the button on the coffee maker.

Currently I am blowing out what remains of my hearing with a hat that has Bluetooth speakers sewn in and my old IPad on a web station. Stretching in place a bit, Hubby accused me of listening to hippie music. "It's as close as I can get to praying" I offered.
