Last night, walking poke stop rounds near our house, I wobbled across a group holding candles in front of the Enoch Pratt Free Library. I asked the man on the end if they were vigiling for Charlottesville. When he confirmed it, I sat down with them, was handed a flame and joined them in singing "God Bless America". After some shared reflections we dispersed. This show of love and unity overrode my personal lack of religious beliefs and I found it very moving.
