The Big Show

The meteorologists are predicting another violent thunderstorm. Last night, a lightning strike took out a laundromat’s roof. A few weeks ago I was watching the lighting show from my apartment’s floor to ceiling glass windows and they were very close. One strike was directly across the street and illuminated the whole sky! Behind the lightning I saw puffy story book clouds row after row all the same size, regular as bathroom tiles in electric purple! For a brief second it looked like an album cover from the 70’s! Well, I thought, I’m not going to see anything like that again soon! So I wheeled of to bed and slept to the sound of fading thunder.

The Late Show

Over last weekend and the past couple of days after we had lots of thunderstorms. On Tuesday the storm was hellacious, with flash flood warnings and sporadic torrents with large hail. I stayed up, distracted by the light show and thunder. There was a huge, close lightning strike which lit up the sky behind it, reavealing puffy little clouds all in rows, all the same shape and size. Row after row, regular as bathroom tile all a deep bright electric purple! It looked like an album cover from the 70’s! Thinking I wasn’t going to see THAT again any time soon, wheeled myself to bed, well after two.

Big show

Here comes the rain again. It’s the full moon tonight that I was hoping to see. I may yet.

Saints

I was waiting for a cab, with a painting picked up from my first live show of the year. I had no trouble getting down there, but for the return trip. I waited and waited. I called the dispatcher several times and was told that they were looking for available driver in my area. After a few hours my phone battery died so I couldn’t call another company so I tried walking to the near intersection to hail one. Well I fell down and couldn’t get up! Two younger women came by picked me up, set me up on my feet and I wheeled to a to sit by a wall as I told them how I was abandoned by my usual cab company. Well one of them called Uber and at her own expense I was on my way home in seven minutes! Thanks be!

Insprirations

I know my poetry is returning from the notes appearing in lists. And questions pose philosophical problems.these shreds are not ready for string together. Besides drama between my neighbors, my life has been pretty plain.
